Warm Up at These Local Breweries

Pittsburgh Breweries

There’s a nip in the air, and you need a way to warm up. Instead of sitting in front of the fire, hit up a local brewery. Pittsburgh is home to some of the best craft breweries in the country, so check them out.

Penn Brewery

When you drink at Penn Brewery, you’re drinking a little piece of history. It sits inside of a historic brewery building. The building is close to 170 years old and has a European brewery vibe that’ll make you feel like you’re in another world. This brewery isn’t just all flash though. It has some of the best seasonal beers around. It also has some unique and tasty experimental creations that are well worth a try. Plus, you can chow down on food from the restaurant. It has a nice assortment of German fare, including the best pretzels in the city. With so much to offer, it’s not unusual to spend hours here, drinking and eating with friends.

11th Hour Brewing Co.

11th Hour Brewing Co. opened late this year, so it’s still new to the brewing scene. It’s managed to stand out already though, thanks in large part to its Belgian blonde stout and IPA. These clean and crisp craft brews are among the best out there, and that’s a bold statement. After all, both are also among the most popular offerings at breweries. It’s also worth noting that you’ll find a nice assortment of food trucks lined up by this brewery.

Roundabout Brewery

Are you sick of all of the IPAs that most craft brewers serve? If so, head to Roundabout Brewery. This small brewery opened in 2013, and it quickly stood out as a different type of brewery. It has some unique beers, and it brings in new beers every month. One tip if you go to this brewery: give yourself a few sips to get used to the flavors. The beer is quite a bit different here, so it will take a minute to get used to it. But once you do, you’ll be in beer heaven.
