There are many ways to measure which vehicles are the best on the market. One of the simplest is to look at which models win the most awards. Towards the end of 2016, Kelley Blue Book took the time to see which models earned the most awards from KBB. The Honda Civic and HR-V came out on top, showing that they are both excellent choices.
2016 Honda CR-V
The 2016 Honda CR-V easily earned a spot on Kelley Blue Book’s list of the most awarded vehicles of 2016. This model repeated its previous win for Small SUV Best Buy! This is truly impressive, considering it will be redesigned for the 2017 model year. Therefore, the editors expect the updated version to do even better on next year’s list.
HR-V and Civic in Top Spots
While the CR-V was in the sixth spot on Kelley Blue Book’s list, the Civic and HR-V came in first and second place, respectively. Just some of the awards that the 2016 Honda HR-V earned from Kelley Blue Book included a Best Family Car, being among the 10 Best SUVs under $25,000, and winning a 5-Year Cost to Own award. To be the most awarded model of the year, the redesigned Honda Civic had an incredible range of awards. It was the Overall Best Buy of 2016, on the list of the 16 Best Family Cars, and among the 10 Coolest Cars Under $18,000.
The 2016 Honda CR-V also received a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the IIHS plus a 5-Star Safety Rating from the NHTSA. To add to the Civic’s accolades, it was also a 2016 IIHS Top Safety Pick+. The HR-V earned a 5-Star Overall Rating from the NHTSA. Both the HR-V and Civic also were featured among the 2016 U.S. News Best Cars for the Money award recipients, with the HR-V and CR-V being on the list of 2016 Best Cars for Families. The HR-V was even the 2016 Green SUV of the Year.
